Lights All Over the World

representing prayers, representing hearts turning to Him.

These past few months there have been countless maps generated to reveal the COVID19 hotspots in the world. As I was praying the other morning for our families, our neighbours here and around the world a thought came to mind. Through my tears I realized that God can see a different kind of map. We see the hotspots generated by disease, our cell phones, travel patterns and pollution. Our Heavenly Father sees the hotspots generated by our prayers, and lights all over the globe representing hearts turning to Him.

If you are at home sick, or lying somewhere on a hospital bed, or leaning over someone who is sick - He is right there wanting to comfort you, to hear you, and welcome you into His Kingdom.

Jesus says “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Jesus also says He has gone to prepare a place for us, and that He is coming back to take us to be with Him (John 14:3).

If you don’t believe in Him just ask Him to reveal himself to you….ask Him to bring someone to your bedside to pray with you.

Years ago I was reading a book about a missionary who had been shot down in a foreign country. She was recovering in hospital and inquired of the staff and her visitors about who the choir was in the other room singing. For weeks the singing went on, but no one was able to hear what she heard, and no was able to locate the choir. Finally she realized that God himself, the creator of the Universe and her life, had commissioned a choir of angels to sing to her while her broken body was healing.

Right now we are hearing what is happening in the world through the media, but we can’t possibly know the full story. What are the miracles taking place? I believe and know God is showing up in this horrifically painful time. One day soon the stories will begin popping up all over the place - of how God sent someone to pray, or “I could hear a choir singing”, or “I believe and am now convinced that…”

“…neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
